Recently there has been a lot of noise around the Golden State Warriors camp especially with Draymond Green’s altercation with Jordan Poole. The news had already shaken the NBA world but when the video got leaked the entire fraternity erupted with different opinions all aimed at Draymond Green and the Warriors organization.
After that Green has apologized publicly and coach Steve Kerr has also demanded privacy on the entire situation as the organization is looking to sort out issues internally. Recently in the ‘First Things First’ podcast NBA analyst Chris Broussard shared how he felt that Green would get suspended or trade but later came to realize how things were not as bad as the situation with Kevin Durant. He explained how Jordan Poole is a very composed personality and things may not go that much south as it happened with KD.
“Part of why this is going to work is Jordan Poole’s personality. Someone told me this is not going to be as bad as the Kevin Durant situation. Now, obviously, it was worse what he did to Poole, but Durant’s personality. Obviously, Durant was a higher stature on the team than Poole, but Durant’s personality would not let it go as quickly as a Jordan Poole,” Broussard explained.
Now he shared how he feels that Draymond Green will not get traded as he is very important to this Warriors outfit and has been a very pivotal figure for the Dubs in the trophies that they have over the last decade. The Warriors will not make this mistake of trading a superstar piece away given the defensive boost he provides coupled with his playmaking and leadership skills. Then tactically Steve Kerr have often shown Green’s versatility as he has deployed him as a center in a small ball formation. So overall he is an ideal fit for the Warriors and trading him away will be a huge call.
“I do not think Draymond Green will get traded. The Warriors understand his importance. His playmaking ability, his defense, the fact that they can go small with him at center. He’s not nearly as valuable elsewhere. For him to be valuable offensively, you need a point guard that’s willing to move off the ball like Steph,” Broussard concluded.
Draymond Green has not been suspended for his actions but he was fined as reported by Steve Kerr who also suggests that Green will play the last preseason game and also feature in the tip off game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
