The Brooklyn Nets have majorly struggled against the Boston Celtics, especially on the defensive side of things. The Celtics have managed Kevin Durant brilliantly and that is the prime reason they are up 3-0 in the series. After winning their first two games in Boston, they followed it up with another one in Brooklyn.
The Nets lost 103-109 against the Celtics at the Barclays Center as Kevin Durant had a forgettable performances dropping 16 points, eight assists and as many rebounds. People believe Durant’s poor show against the Celtics is the reason why the Nets are on the verge of getting swept in the first round.
The NBA on TNT crew was analyzing the third game in the Nets-Celtics first round playoffs. Just then, Charles Barkley made a few comments on great players and the playoffs situations. Sir Chuck slammed Kevin Durant for his 16-point performance against the Celtics.
“All these guys can play, but please don’t tell me you’re a great, great player and you’re averaging 20,” Barkley commented on KD’s playoff performances.
“I don’t wanna badmouth the dude… But I tried to tell y’all, all these bus drivers? They don’t mean nothing to me. If you ain’t drivin’ the bus, don’t walk around talkin’ about you a champion! If you ridin’ a bus, I don’t wanna hear it,” Barkley continued.
Kevin Durant has won the NBA Championship twice and has also won the finals MVP title twice. Durantula won his championships only after joining the Golden State Warriors and was paired by with Steph Curry. However many NBA fans doubt whether Durant could win a Championship without the support of players likes Curry and other players in the Warriors bandwagon.
KD led his Oklahoma City Thunder to the 2012 NBA Championship finals but they lost out against LeBron James’ Miami Heat.
It is more or less confirmed that KD won’t be adding another Championship to his cabinet this season. He has currently dropping 22 points in the players, the lowest ever playoffs average in his career.
However the Nets will look to salvage some pride and hope to beat the Celtics when they take court at the Barclay’s Center for Game 4. But it looks like the end of the season for Kevin Durant and company.
