Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton reflects on his partnership and understanding with Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks created history by winning the 2021 NBA Championships after they defeated the Phoenix Suns 4-2 in the Finals. The Bucks have been patient and they have allowed their star players to grow into superstars and guide them to triumph. Both Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo have waited long and hard for this moment and now the dup have finally achieved the unthinkable feat.

The dup ended the Bucks’ 50year Championship drought. It is a tale that should be written in history books for future generations. The story of the 2021 NBA Championship finals started with the Suns going up 2-0 against the Bucks. However, they came back from Game 3 as Giannis guided them to a smooth win. Once they registered their first win on board in the finals, there was no looking back. Mike Budenholzer and his men simply carried on that momentum and went on winning games. The Middleton and Giannis duo dominated the Suns complete as they scripted history to overturn a double deficit in the finals. They simply erased the early domination from the Suns as they averaged 62 points in the finals.

While the Greek Freak dropped some tremendous match winning performances to turn the tide towards Milwaukee. He would not have done it alone without the support of Khris Middleton and others. The duo have been through tough years and now they will cherish the glory. They have been with each other for a long time and finally, they are reaping the rewards of their hard work.

Middleton shared his thoughts about Giannis and their bonding chemistry in a post-match interview. “We formed a bond, brotherhood. Since our first year, we’ve been together, we struggled together. There was no give up, there was our motivation to be better, not be embarrassed. Year after year we challenged each other to be better leaders, better teammates.”

Middleton averaged 23.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in this postseason. He was one of the primary reasons why Giannis Antetokounmpo’s monstrous performances did not go in vain and rather helped them win games.

The Bucks have put a lot of patience and effort into the two youngsters since 2013. But it was all worth considering that the duo have won them the  NBA Championship after 50 long years.
