LeBron James has been one of the greatest talents to have ever graced the NBA. But the striking factor about the King is his longevity. He is currently in his 19th year in the league but he can still terrorise defences with his sheer skill and athleticism. However, LeBron dreams of continuing for some more years. He recently spoke to the media and revealed his ultimate dream of playing with his son, Bronny James.
While James have been going strong till now in the NAB, this season has been a different story for the Lakers star as he has suffered persistent injury problems. The injuries have taken a massive toll on his body and it will surely reflect on his performances as well. However his big time goal is to play with Bronny, he knows a lot can change in the meantime.
Bronny James is currently 17-year-old in his junior year at Sierra Canyon. Bronny is one of the star players in one of the top basketball schools. Recently Bronny’s performances have put the NBA World on notice. He came up with a 19 point performance to help his team win.
While speaking to the media, LeBron James revealed that his big goal is to share the court with his son Bronny James. It is one of the dreams of the 36-year-old NBA legend.
LeBron said: “Absolutely. My son’s putting in the work. We never talk about it, but his dream is to play in the NBA. That’s what he hopes, to be in the NBA and play at a high level and he has my support and my blueprint. So, obviously, with health and a little bit of luck, that would be the ultimate dream, for me to be on the same court as my son and this beautiful game. But that’s a long time, a lot happens between here and there.”
Bronny can go on draft after one year of college basketball. But currently, he has two years at school left before he can go to college. Hence, unless there are rule changes, the earliest he can declare for the draft is in 2024.
It is not unrealistic for LeBron to still stick around till 2024. He works very hard to keep himself fit. But it all depends on how his body reacts especially after all the injuries. LeBron will hope that he can continue till the time his son Bronny catches up with him in the NBA.
