The NBA over the years have seen some very dominant players. One such name has to be the Big Diesel, former Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal. For the majority of his career, he dominated opponents on the court. However, after his spell as a player, he is equally dominant as an NBA analyst.
Shaquille O’Neal would often call shots at players and was often criticised for his upfront nature. Some of his favourite targets were Javale McGee and Dwight Howard, who were the big men at Lakers.
While on Danny Green’s podcast Dwight Howard revealed how he discussed Shaq’s comments with JaVale McGee and how they had a laugh about it.
Shaquille O’Neal is probably one of the most entertaining NBA Analysts in the circuit. His controversial takes and analysis often intrigue fans. His role with the NBA on TNT crew keep the fans on their toes. He even has his own segment called ‘Shaqtin’ A Fool’.
Howard came on as a guest in Danny Green’s podcast and he spoke about Shaq. He referred to their time at Lakers when he was with JaVale McGee. The big men had thoughts of fighting him but then the Big Diesel being an honourary police officer kept them at bay.
“We did. I asked him, I was like ‘hey, did you want to fight Shaq?’ He was like ‘man I did, man!’ I was like ‘man I did too,’ but I was like ‘there’s two things we’ve got to worry about. He’s a cop, so if we hurt him we’re going to jail. And two, if Shaq gets ahold of us, it’s over with… You’ve got to hit him and move, because if not? If Shaq gets you? It’s over with,” Howard said.
Shaq kept on going at JaVale more than he did than any other player. He included the former Lakers big man in his segment continuously. Even when he was injured JaVale featured in the Shaqtin segment. Things got so bad that JaVale’s mother had to step in to stop Shaquille O’Neal.
Dwight Howard is currently ut with a back injury and hence he is not taking the court for the last couple of games. Whereas JaVale McGee has joined the Phoenix Suns and they are going through a purple patch leading the Western Conference with a superb record of 44-10 making them a top contender for the NBA Championship.
