One of the biggest NBA storylines that need to be resolved once the regular season resumes play is LeBron James and the Lakers making the playoffs.
This has been one of the more compelling NBA seasons of the last decade but the coronavirus cut it short and now we waiting for the action to resume some way.
We are not going to get this closure under normal conditions. At this point I just hope we can get it and not be left wondering what could have happened. Hopefully the season is not lost.
LeBron James, who had a down year last season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2004, has played at an MVP-level all in 2019-20.
This is James’ 17th campaign in the NBA and many began to wonder if Father Time finally caught up to him. The three-time NBA Champion is on a mission.
The Lakers were on a roll and James has led the way, thriving as their starting point guard. LeBron leads the league with 10.6 assists per game (a career-best). He also averages 25.7 points and 7.9 rebounds in 34.9 minutes over 60 games, shooting 49.8 percent from the field.
Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins revealed what James told him in the offseason: “LeBron did tell me that he was going to reclaim his throne in due time and got damn it he’s on a mission right now. 3 Straight Triple Doubles and the season just started! Feel sorry for the rest of the league!!! God Bless America.”
James turned 35 in December and it is interesting to see if he could have sustained this level of play in the playoffs. LeBron always raises his game in the biggest stages and I can’t wait to see what he would have done in the playoffs, considering that the Lakers have a loaded roster that also includes star forward Anthony Davis.
