The Los Angeles Lakers came all in their Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz as they beat them 121-96. This is a back to back win after the team beat the Denver Nuggets 105-96 on Tuesday night.
Obviously, the Lakers are starting the month on a good note after emerging victorious in both fixtures. This would be Utah’s fifth loss in six games.
Entering the night amidst so much doubt as people really questioned if the Los Angeles team could hold their balance, the boys proved their worth, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis raking in scores for their side.
Although the Jazz looked like they had everything in control in the first quarter, with an 11-5 lead, they just could not just keep up with the Lakers who had a very strong defense that gave the Jazz quite a headache. Davis scored 26 points while Lebron James had 20 points and 12 assists. Rajon Rando made 14 points and 12 assists also with eight rebounds.
What really helped the Lakers was their strong defense. Although it does not really show in the final scoreline, but it made things persistently difficult for the Jazz side as shots were constantly blocked. Even on the offense, nobody from the Utah team could keep up with Davis or James.
Donovan Mitchell was the man who held it down for Utah, giving his team 29 points with five assists while Bojan Bogdanovic made 23 points.
Part of Utah’s problem came from their defense which was very poor, as it has been for some time this season. This would be the first time James would win in Utah since December 2010, when he was with the Miami Heats, while it would also be the first game of the season where Dwight Howard makes three points.
The Lakers now prepare for their next game against the Portland Raptors on Friday night.
