NBA analyst Rob Parker feels LeBron James hasn’t been able to deliver the goods for the LA Lakers during his stint so far. James has so far played in four seasons for the Lakers and had led them to the championship in the 2019-20 season.
However, the Lakers were knocked in the first round of playoffs in the 2021 season. In the previous season of the NBA 2021-22, the Lakers could not even make the cut into the postseason. The team was troubled by a plethora of injuries as James and Anthony Davis could not stay at the top of their fitness.
In fact, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis played together in only 21 matches for the Lakers, in which they had a 11-10 record.
On the Odd Couple podcast, Rob Parker said, “I think it’s been a disaster to be honest, I really do,” Parker said.
“And I know you say he did win a championship. But if you really look at what happened even last year, LeBron averaged 30 points and they went three or four months without winning back-to-back games in this weak NBA.
“That worked out, but I think there’s been more disappointment and bad play and the feeling like the Lakers are always broken during this LeBron era rather than joy in La La land.”
James is set to enter the final year of his two-year, $85.6 million deal with the Lakers this season.
Meanwhile, LeBron James averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 56 games in the 2021-22 season. He was selected to play in his eighteenth All-Star games. However, Akron Hammer didn’t get the support of his teammates and he was also troubled by injury.
