Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham has revealed that they anticipate LeBron James to make a return at some point in the ongoing season. With only 10 games remaining in the regular season, James is in race to get fit and help the Lakers qualify for the post-season.
James had injured his foot in the Lakers’ 111-108 come-from-behind victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 26. The talisman had suffered a tendon injury in his right foot.
“We anticipate him coming back at some point [this season],” Ham said before the Lakers beat the Orlando Magic 111-105 on Sunday.
James is expected to be reevaluated by the Lakers’ medical team later this week in order to gauge the progress of his injury. The Lakers have gone 6-5 without the services of James.
“I think Bron, him being out has revealed that we have a lot of different weapons that are very capable players on both sides of the ball that can help us achieve the goal that we’re trying to achieve,” Ham said. “And when he comes back, he’s just going to add to it.”
On the other hand, Denis Schroder revealed James has been working hard in the training sessions in order to make a return.
“He works three times a day on his body to get back,” Schroder said Friday. “I think we got a real chance here [with this team].”
Meanwhile, the Lakers defeated Orlando Magic by 111-105 with Austin Reaves scoring a career-high 35 points. LeBron James also praised Reaves for his impressive show writing on social media, “You toooooo TOUGH!!”
“You’re talking about arguably one of the greatest players ever,” Reaves said. “I mean I don’t know what to say. For him to accept me the way he accepted me from Day 1, obviously I felt there was a really good chemistry, IQ-wise, from Day 1. But not just him, everybody else.”
