The Golden State Warriors had a great game as they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers and also saw Klay Thompson return to court after two long seasons. Talisman Stephen Curry also had a much needed great game. But Thompson was still not happy with the team’s performance as he felt that they could have shot a lot better.
The Warriors defeats the Cavaliers 96-82 and have once again taken the stronghold of the Western Conference with a 30-9 record. Surprisingly the Phoenix Suns also have a similar record as they look to chase down Curry and company.
Klay Thompson was on song right from his first minute on the court as he proved that his time with the Santa Cruz Warriors and long rehab did not go in vain. Although he took things easy and played limited minutes he did score some crucial points. He was on the court for 20 minutes and he notched up 17 points along with three boards and a single assist. Given the situation that he was in for the last few years, this was a sensational comeback for the 31-year-old.
After the game, Klay was critical about the Warriors having a poor shooting night.
Before returning to the court Klay clearly mentioned that his only wish this season is to win the Championship with the Warriors. Therefore a win is not enough to fulfil that dream as the NBA’s one of the greatest shooters feels that shooting is an area where the Dubs cannot compromise.
“The fans are the best in the league and the ovation. the pregame and to come out and make my first shot, I mean we did not even shoot well tonight. It shows you how good we are defensively. I mean the fans are everything. They inspired me for the last two years and I thought about them everyday,” Klay said after the game.
It was a great game for Stephen Curry as he scored 26 points. Along with 26 points he also notched up 5 rebounds, and 5 assists guiding the Warriors to a win against the Phoenix Suns. Warriors were fantastic on the defensive front as they did not allow the Cavaliers to score more than 82 points.
