Redick, who played 15 years in the NBA, had an extensive 90-minute meeting with Lakers vice president and general manager Rob Pelinka last month at the Chicago draft combine. “Rob Pelinka has always sought a coach who can develop young talent and bring a creative strategy to the team,” said a source close to the Lakers. “Redick’s understanding of the game and his relationship with key players, like LeBron James, makes him a compelling candidate.”
Indeed, Redick’s connection with Lakers star LeBron James, with whom he co-hosts a basketball podcast, could be a significant advantage.
