Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown will miss at least one week because of a hamstring injury.
The Celtics beat the Cavaliers on Wednesday, without Brown, Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward.
Brown’s injury is the most concerning of the three because it is in an area that’s been problematic for him in the past:
“I don’t know what the grade is,” Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said. “It’s the low end, whatever that is. But I think the prognosis was probably about the same as last time. He missed a game and played on a minutes restriction after that. Probably still looking at seven days on this one.”
Jaylen Brown has shined for the Celtics this season, averaging a career-high 20.4 points to go along with 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 34.0 minutes over 50 games. He is shooting 49.0 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point range.
Getting his contract situation taken care of has truly helped him find his groove. The Celtics signed him to a rookie-scale extension in the offseason and you can tell that he is having fun out there, playing with no worries at all.
Brown led the Celtics with 22 points on 7 of 16 shooting and 3 of 9 from 3-point range in a 129-120 overtime loss against the Nets last Tuesday. He also had five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 35 minutes but it wasn’t enough and the Celtics suffered a tough setback.
