Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry suffered a left shoulder injury against Indiana Pacers after his team faced a 125-118 loss on Wednesday night. Curry suffered the shoulder injury with 2:04 left on the clock in the third quarter when he was taking on Jalen Smith.
GSW head coach Steve Kerr admitted it is going to get tougher for them if Curry is ruled out of the upcoming matches. The talisman was sent for MRI scans but the extent of his injury is yet to be known.
The Dubs have managed a solitary win in their last five matches and Kerr admitted that it has been a tough phase for his team.
“This has been a tough stretch and if [Curry is] out it will for sure get tougher,” Kerr said. “But we’ve got to persevere. You just keep playing and keep fighting. It’s a long season. The thing I am confident about is that if we’re healthy, we feel like we can beat anybody.”
Meanwhile, Curry scored 38 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including five 3s and a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line before he had to walk off the court.
“He was just stunning,” Kerr said. “He put us on his shoulders in the minutes he was out there. Generating so much offense, getting to the line, getting the ball to other people. He was brilliant.”
“I checked in with [Curry] briefly but haven’t had a chance to go into detail,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Steph is always a guy with a great outlook on life, so he’s in good spirits.”
There is no doubt that Curry holds the key for Golden State Warriors and his fitness is going to be crucial for the team.
GSW currently has a 14-15 record in the ongoing season. Kerr’s team will next take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
