Miami Heat talisman Jimmy Butler has vowed to win the NBA championship with the team and also revealed he doesn’t intend on playing for any other side. Heat qualified for the NBA finals in the previous season but they were beaten by Denver Nuggets in the finals by 4-1.
Butler had played a key role in taking his team to the NBA finals as he averaged 22.3 points per game, 5.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists in the 64 games he played.
In an interview with Chinese Baller Vision, Butler said via Legion of Hoops, “I believe that with all my heart, that we, I, will win a Championship for the Heat because I don’t plan on playing for another NBA team. The next time I’m talking to ya’ll here, I’ll be a one-time NBA champion.”
“I know that the team that Coach Pat (Riley) and Coach Spo (Erik Spoelstra) put around me and my teammates, we’ll gonna be fine. We’re always gonna have an opportunity. This year is our year.
“I really do believe that. We understand what it takes to get there and now we just have to get over that hump. I’ll be better, we’ll all be better as a unit. The next time I’m talking to ya’ll here, I’ll be a one-time NBA champion.”
In fact, the Miami Heat had also suffered a 4-2 loss in the NBA finals against LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020 season. Ergo, Heat hasn’t been able to cross the final hurdle.
After that loss, a disappointed Butler had said, “This is what my team needed me to do, the organisation asked of me. I told them that I would win them one and I didn’t hold up my end of the bargain, so that means I gotta do it next year.
“I told Coach Pat, I told Coach Spo I’m here to win one. I didn’t do my job, so moving forward, I got to hold up my end of the bargain.”
Heat have been consistent and they will be looking to go all the way in the upcoming season.
