Houston Rockets star James Harden says that he feels like a 21-year-old once again as he enters his 12th NBA season. There has been a lot of drama surrounding Harden and the Rockets off the court, but it is good to hear good words from him at the beginning of the season.
The 31-year-old has been a vital cog of the Rockets’ offense ever since he started playing for them in 2012. Harden has been in eight back-to-back All-Star games with the Rockets and had it not been for COVID-19 this year, he could have even made it nine.
I feel like I’m 21 again, even though in reality I’m not,” said Harden with a large smile on his face.
“You try to find ways to put your footprint on this league, try to find yourself in this league. Some guys never do it. I know myself all around. That’s why I’m so confident,” he added.
However, Harden’s statistics as a 21-year-old, when he was with Oklahoma City Thunder, weren’t that impressive. He was averaging only 12 points in 27 minutes back then, and he was transferred to the Houston Rockets as soon as he turned 22. But that doesn’t matter now. What matters is that Harden is feeling fresh and ready to go. So, other teams should be on high alert as that doesn’t sound like good news for them.
Harden seems pretty focused for the new season and he has good vast supporting him, which features John Wall, as well. He has proved numerous times before in the League that he is very hard to stop when in full flow. He just takes complete control of the game and scores on command.
He has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this season, but that could change completely as soon as he comes up with his magic on the basketball court. Harden is a terrific player and everyone will be expecting another excellent outing from him.
