He’s the greatest player to ever play the game – Austin Reaves on LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers’ Austin Reaves has tipped LeBron James as the greatest player to ever play the game of Basketball. Reaves feels James deserves his statue in front of the Crypto.com arena for his contribution to the team.

The veteran took the Lakers to glory in the 2020 season and has played a key role in the team’s success since his arrival. James has ticked the right boxes for the Lakers and deserves a lot of credit for the team’s success.

Furthermore, James played a key role in taking the Lakers to the Western Conference finals in the 2022-23 season of the NBA. James has so far won four NBA championships, two with Miami Heat and one each with Cleveland Cavaliers and the Lakers.

“Yeah, why not,” Reaves said in an interview with Sports Illustrated. “You know, he came to LA at a time when they weren’t having much success and what was it, two (or) three years, he (already) put a banner in the rafters? So, why not?”

“I mean, in my opinion, he’s the greatest player to ever play the game,” Reaves said. “You can argue it for sure, I mean, because there have been some really good players, but I’ve always said that you could name the best person at everything, scoring, rebounding, (etc.), and you could argue that Bron can compete at the top in all those categories. So yeah, why not?”

Meanwhile, Reaves will return to the Lakers’ lineup after signing a four-year, $56 million deal. Reaves will also hold the key for the Lakers in the next season.

On the other hand, LeBron James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 55 games in 2022-23. He was selected to play in his nineteenth All-Star games. Furthermore, he leapfrogged legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time points tally.

The 2023-24 NBA season will be the 21st of James’ career.
