He’s gonna shatter it, and it’ll never be broken again – Kevin Durant on Stephen Curry’s three-point record

Brooklyn Nets talisman Kevin Durant has predicted Stephen Curry’s three-point will never be broken again when he will hang his boots from the NBA. Curry recently climbed Mt. 3000 three-pointers in NBA regular season against Denver Nuggets on Tuesday and thus became the first NBA player to scale down the milestone.

The talisman has now scored 3004 three-pointers in the regular season of the NBA in 794 matches he has played. Curry, 33, still has a lot of fuel left in his tank and there is no doubt that it would be almost impossible to break his three-pointers record when he will hang his boots.

Meanwhile, it is expected that Curry could end his career with more than 4000 threes in his career if he keeps going at the same rate. Curry is at the top of his fitness and he could easily play for another four to five years.

Speaking about Curry’s three-point exploits on ‘The Boardroom’, Durant said: “Anytime you can break an NBA all-time record, you know regardless of what it is, especially something as significant as a three-point shot, I understood his emotion and then he has like, let’s say he has 7-8 more years of fun, so he gonna shatter it, and it’ll never be broken again. So when you’re thinking about all of this stuff, that can make you emotional.”

The Golden State Warriors linchpin had earlier broken Ray Allen’s record of most three-pointers in the regular season as he had scored the record-breaking 2974th triple of his career against New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden.

Speaking on the same, Durant added, “I was leaving my house about to grab some food somewhere else and some people outside like, yo Steph across the street, I’m like damn really, let me go say what’s up and I happened to run into him and it was cool to see everybody from the Warriors and Steph and kind of being on the celebration little bit, coz I gotta couple of assists, in there.”

Curry had dropped37 points when Golden State Warriors had faced Brooklyn Nets earlier in the season and had led his team to a win. The 33-year old had received a lot of backing from the Barclays crowd.

Durant said on the same, “It’s ridiculous like they were clowning us in the Barclays for the amount of Steph Curry fans in there; I’m like do you not see him in every arena, like what do you mean it’s just the Barclays arena where he hit MVP chants and cheers after he hit five three’s in a row. That’s who he is; that’s what he attracts”.

Golden State Warriors will next play Denver Nuggets on Thursday
