Los Lakers star LeBron James has heaped praise on veteran Carmelo Anthony for his contribution to the team’s success. Lakers registered their third win from the last four matches as they defeated Cleveland Cavaliers by 113-101. Lakers’ two old horses – James and Carmelo – were once again at their best and delivered for the team.
In fact, both of the veterans – who have now played for 18 years in the NBA – have played a handful of matches with each other but their chemistry has been great. James gave credit to Anthony for creating space for him, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook and lauded the veteran for his contribution to the team.
James top-scored for the Lakers with 26 points whereas Melo contributed with 24 points. Anthony scored six three-pointers and played at the top of his game.
“He’s a sniper,” James added. “One of those guys that doesn’t need much air space to get it off because it’s a quick trigger. He creates so much space for Russ and myself and A.D. to work our pick-and-roll magic.”
On the other hand, Anthony Davis scored 15 points while Russell Westbrook made 19 points. Westbrook added that they are doing a solid job as a team.
“I think we’ve been doing a solid job,” Westbrook said. “Everybody on the outside looking in wants things to click immediately, but that’s not realistic. … We’ll keep our swag up, keep our spirits high regardless of what’s happening.”
The Lakers will look to continue their good show and they will be looking to come up with a collective effort. The Lakers will next face Houston Rockets on Sunday.
