Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry shared the value of winning the fourth ring last season

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of the best players of this generation and he reminded everyone of his greatness by winning his fourth Championship last season. He guided the Warriors to the title beating the Boston Celtics 4-2 in the Finals. This was also the first time he won the Finals MVP despite having three titles in his bag earlier.

He was sensational throughout the season but mostly in the finals against the Celtics as he was determined to help his team win the Championship and personally wanted to bag the Finals MVP which has evaded him till now.

After winning the NBA FInals last season, Curry was seen going to the ground and crying with passion proving how much it meant to him as a player. He always highlighted how the fourth championship for him meant so much to him as he simultaneously bagged the elusive Finals MVP title as well.

In a recent interview the NBA’s highest three point shooter shared how going down on his knees and crying on court after the Game 6 win at Boston showed how much it meant to him. He shared how he was never afraid to show raw emotions infact he feels that it represents his passion and how much the fourth ring meant to him.

“You don’t find me ugly crying on the court for no reason,” Curry said. “That raw emotion that came out after Game 6 kind of signaled how much this meant to me, how much this meant to our team,” Curry shared.

He shared how he hardly had any idea about the first ring that he has won as he was focused on playing well and achieving it and when he did he celebrated it. SImilarly the next two Champions were mostly for validation as the Warriors built a legacy. But the fourth one after a gap of few years as they proved to the world that they are still good enough and therefore it was very emotional for him.

“The first one, you don’t really know what you’re doing until you accomplish it, and then you’re celebrating. The next two were kind of validation, trying to remain champions. But after these last three years and winning that one, definitely the most special.”

The Warriors will be looking to defend their title in the upcoming season despite some tweaks to their team from last season. The trio of Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green has been dominant over the last decade in the NBA and they will look to stamp their authority in the league once again.
