Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green has praised Stephen Curry’s dedication towards the sport even at the age of 35. Green has highlighted Curry’s tendency to defy age and the importance that he gives to fitness at this juncture of his career is very inspiring.
Green, who has been playing in the NBA since the 2012-13 season recently spoke about his teammate’s dedication. The duo have won four NBA Championships together but both are entering the twilight of their career with every passing season.
“I think he’s one of the most special people you’ll be around,” Green said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “And I think, when you look at Steph, he’s nice, he smiles, he’s the Golden Child. He’s all of these things. Baby-Faced Assassin, you name it.”
Green shared that under that smiling baby face, Curry works extremely hard in the gym and also on the court because he has a burning fire inside him to keep winning till the time he is around. Green has not seen any other player work as hard as Steph.
“Underneath all of that, is a never-dying passion that’s just burning, raging. And he works as hard as I’ve seen anybody work. Whether that’s in the weight room, whether that’s in the basketball court, in life. He’s always reading a book. He works harder than anyone that I’ve seen work,” Green revealed.
Despite being in his thirties, Curry has been exceptional for the Warriors for a long time. Green believes that with every passing season, he is working even harder with the aim of defying age. While eventually he will have to stop, Curry is trying everything in his power to delay it for as long as possible.
“For him, you can just watch him. He’s trying to defeat age, and it’s evident to me, every day,” Green continued. “Like every day, I come in and I watch him and I’m just like, ‘ This dude continues to work harder and harder, each year.’ This dude’s trying to defeat age. We all know ‘Father Time’ is undefeated and guess what he’s doing right now? He’s beating those odds right now,” Green concluded.
Curry has shown zero signs of slowing down in the recent and fans are hoping that the nine-time All-Star keeps on playing this for another five or more years. However, it won’t be an easy feat but when it’s Curry one can surely hope.
