Former Pistons legend Isiah Thomas gives a befitting reply to Oakley who claimed Antetokounmpo wouldn’t make it to the first team in 80 & 90s

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA and a reigning champion with the Milwaukee Bucks. He is probably one of the most athletic stars currently with exceptional abilities in offense as well as in defence. Although the Bucks have not been as dominant in defence as last season, Giannis still has made a case for the MVP award.

However recently Charles Oakley made a very disrespectful statement regarding the Greek Freak. Oakley claimed that Giannis in their era would have come off the bench. He clearly highlighted how Antetokounmpo’s quality would not have yielded him a first team spot in any of the franchises during Oakley’s era.

hearing such statements, former Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas came in support for Giannis as he gave a proper reply to Oakley’s claims. The former Pistons legend Isiah Thomas appeared on NBA TV Live and there he shared his thoughts about the Milwaukee Bucks talisman firing shots at Charles Oakley, a former teammate of Michael Jordan.

He highlighted how it is easy to speak from the sidelines holding a cigar as they don’t play anymore. He also shared how Giannis is faster, bigger and stronger and could have been a dominant player in any generation.

“All these guys (Charles Oakley) talking about when Giannis couldn’t play and all that,” Isiah said. “Dude, Giannis going around Oakley, Giannis going around all them, he dunking on them. He bigger, he faster, he stronger. You can talk all that stuff because you don’t play no more, because you got grey hair, sitting on the sidelines smoking a cigar talking about what you used to do. That dude would dog you every single time y’all stepped on the court,” Thomas said taking a dig at Oakley’s statements on Giannis.

“We ain’t never see no dude like this. Give him his props, give him his credit. He would dog anybody in the 80s, 90s, 00s, & in 3020 when we get there,’ the Pistons legend added.

After guiding the Bucks to the NBA title last season, Giannis has delivered another top season as the Bucks are currently in the fourth position in the Eastern Conference with a 37-25 record. They are still very much in the mix as Giannis Antetokounmpo tends to get hot as the season progresses and bring his best game during the postseason. But sadly for Charles Oakley that was not enough to find a first-team spot in the 80s or 90s.

However, Thomas’ reply was welcomed by the Milwaukee Bucks fans as they absolutely adore the Greek Freak and believe that the youngster can guide him to another NBA Championship this year.
