The Chicago Bulls in the NBA have a rich history and that is mostly down to Michael Jordan and an arsenal of talented players who guided the Bulls to six NBA Championship titles. They dominated an entire decade and are still regarded as one of the best teams to ever grace the NBA.
During that era, one of Michael Jordan’s biggest rivals was Charles Barkley who recently made a very interesting comparison. Apart from MJ, there were other great players as well. One of the defensive stalwarts in this team was Dennis Rodman who has been a real pillar for the Bulls. Therefore Charles Barkley compared Rodman with Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.
Green is easily one of the stars in the NBA and his defensive solidity has been top-notch. The Golden State Warriors are part of the ‘Big Three’ consisting of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
NBA Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley appeared on Draymond Green’s podcast and there he shared how Green is very comparable to Rodman who was a defensive pillar for the Bulls back in those days.
He said, “You know what’s really funny. You remind me a lot of Dennis Rodman. Like, I wanna play with you. You would be annoying as f*ck to play against.”
“You would be annoying to play against because number 1, I don’t think you have ever committed a foul and that makes me laugh every time,” Barkley added.
Despite all their on-court battles, Rodman and Barkley share great mutual respect as NBA icons. Also, it is a great achievement for Green to be compared with someone like Denis Rodman.
While people always think of Michael Jordan and Chuck’s rivalry. Barkley and Rodman’s rivalry is also very underrated. The duo went up against each other many times as both the players have great rebounding skills which made them very valuable for their respective teams.
Recently the Warriors are feeling the absence of Green in their roster. They lost their latest match against the Minnesota Timberwolves 129-114 and are still in the second position in the Western Conference just below the Phoenix Suns. But some recent defeats mean that the Memphis Grizzlies are only a win away from levelling their records with the Warriors.
