This year’s NBA Finals will see the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks fighting against each other to clinch the prestigious Championship. It was the arrival of Chris Paul which changed the dynamics at the Suns. After failing to qualify for the NBA Playoffs last season, they reached the finals this season and a lot of credit goes to CP3.
Paul’s experience and leadership in the dressing room was crucial to lead a young Suns roster. With Monty Williams, CP3 got a great advisor and coach who knows what suits him best. Paul also extracted the best out of Devin Booker who has been far more consistent this season.
People are finding it shocking that Paul, even at 36 is only developing his game and taking it to a new level. He has shown no signs of decline and will be aiming to win the NBA Championship which will be his first.
Former NBA Champion Mark Aguirre recently spoke very highly of Chris Paul and highlighted his impact on this young Suns team. He felt that Paul has created a culture at the franchise which is a matter of pride for the people of Phoenix.
“Chris Paul is the most valuable player in the NBA right now,” Mark Aguirre said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “Because, for that team to play as poised as they are and look at the young kids that are playing. I look at what Chris Paul has moulded them into, Horn you know what I’m saying. When you were the ‘Bad Boy’ you played this way, they have an identity now. They know how they are gonna play and they play that way, and I put that to Monty and Chris Paul and the young kids for believing in it.”
He also picked the Suns as his favourite to win the NBA Championship this season. He added, “I’m really impressed with them. I think that considering the landscape now, I think they will win the title, I really do.”
The Suns have been sensational this season especially in the postseason where they knocked out the reigning Champions Lakers in the first round followed by MVP Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets in the next round. Lastly, they defeated the stacked Clippers side. Hence neutrals are also supporting the Suns to win it all.
