Celtics Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett have had their fair share of beef with Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem during their days of competitiveness. As per reports Haslem has invited Pierce and Garnett to his podcast. Haslem is interested in calling the Celtic legends to speak about the glory days of the NBA.
Recently, Pierce came out with a dig on Instragam in a post about Haslem’s jersey number getting retired by the Miami Heat. Pierce came up with some nasty shots for the former NBA veteran.
“This one given bro just saying,” Pierce commented.
The former Celtics star feels that Haslem’s celebratory jersey number retirement was something that was handed to him and not earned. Just like Haslem, Pierce is not someone who will shy away from calling the shots whenever they get that opportunity.
Their beef gained prominence when they were at the peak of their career and went head-to-head on many occasions. Their famous altercations happened in the NBA postseason encounters where the competitiveness is always at its peak.
Keeping all of that aside, the two Celtis legends should accept Haslem’s offer and appear on his podcast. It will be a very insightful watch for fans when they discuss the glory days of the league.
Like Pierce, Garnett is also someone who does not mince his words. The duo share a nice chemistry as Pierce often appears in Garnett’s podcast “KG Certified” to share his talks on many things around the NBA.
Udonis Haslem was sharing a session with forming Miami Heat star Mike Miller on his podcast called “The OGS Shows” and during the conversation, he invited Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to his podcast.
“Those rivalries we had, we felt a way about each other,” Haslem said. “I did not like them, and they probably didn’t like me. So, if they want to come on this podcast, and we can talk with them, I’m down. If a team sends you home, you despise them until the next year.”
Over the years, NBA have had some of the greatest individual rivalries. Things were much more serious back in this era than it is now. There was proper despise for one another and it adds up to the glory days of the NBA. There’s nothing better than a classic NBA rivalry.
