Fans in any sport form an integral part of the entire community. But they can often have negative impacts aswell. Fans can often be overbearing and in the age of social media, they can have adverse effects on personalities by sending vile comments and criticisms. Recent incidents in the NBA saw Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James get a couple of fans ejected from a match for their horrible comments on the Akron Hammer.
There were mixed reactions to the incident as few people supported the 17-time All Star as they did pass a few rubbish comments regarding Lebron during the game. However many people thought that the Lakers star should have just ignored the comments and mind his own business. However former Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal supported his former Cavaliers teammate, LeBron James but he took a different route.
Shaquille O’Neal never backed away from any challenges, both on and off the court. His aggressiveness and on the edge attitude saw him have many confrontations in his illustrious career.
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old has seen the NBA evolve over the years. But when a pair of fans decided to take a dig at him, LeBron did not back down and let them be. He fought back and insisted the referees to throw them out of the court. The Lakers had a very intense game against Indiana Pacers in over time. When a couple of fans made foul statements at the 36-year-old.
Refering to this incident , Shaquille O’Neal highlighted his worst experience in the NBA. Shaq said, “Sacramento was probably the toughest city.”
“And we go out before the games, and people would be talking about something and I said bro, I’m at like if I go out or something. But like bruh, say what you wanna say about the game, I’m eating these pancakes. You f*cking touch me, I’m gonna break you mother f*cking jaw, ” Shaq added.
He pointed out how he would either throw the ball at them or dive on those people. He is clearly not looking to keep it in an organised way like LeBron. He feels that some people deserve that treatment for being horrible to professional players.
