The Brooklyn Nets have not had the best of the starts in the current NBA campaign. But their recent 117-91 win over the Detroit Pistons saw them maintain a positive win record of 4-3 till now. Once again it was Kevin Durant who led the charge for the Nets.
Durant scored the game-high 23 points and guided the Nets to a crucial win. James Harden also delivered a triple-double as he scored 18 points along with 12 assists and 10 boards. Overall Durant has been the go-to guy for the Nets as he is averaging 27.7 PPG, 8.9 RPG, and 5.3 APG from seven games this season.
Over the years, Durantula has been exceptional with his scoring consistencies and hence he is considered as one of the best in the business. The Nets talisman has had several struggled but his indomitable spirit makes him a legend of the game.
Many current and former players over the years have praised Durant for the player he is. Recently former Clippers star JJ Reddick lavished praise on the 33-year-old star. He called Durant the best player in the NBA currently. Reddick has a fair shout considering Durant’s consistency over the years. Hoopshype podcaster Mike Scotto recently took to Twitter to put up that quote regarding Durant from his recent podcast which was with JJ Reddick.
“What he’s been able to do post-Achilles has been nothing short of remarkable. From my perspective as a player and my peers’ perspective, he’s the best player in the NBA, and everybody else is sort of competing for that second spot,” Redick said.
The NBA is filled with talented players and superstars. While some feel that the best player in the league is Steph Curry, other back Kevin Durant. There are a few who also consider the likes of Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo and even James Harden for that matter. But one cannot deny the struggle and fight that Durant went through during his Achilles injury. But he came back next season and scored 27 PPG in the following season.
The Nets are 4-3 after seven games this season, but Durant has been in form since the beginning. If the others can lift their spirits, this can be the season for the Brooklyn Nets.
