Draymond Green is the heartbeat of our team – Steve Kerr
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has tipped Draymond Green as the heartbeat of his team. Green is well known to put his body on the line for the team and gives his best for the Dubs. The talisman scored his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 assists against Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night as GSW won 137–114.
On the other hand, Stephen Curry scored 25 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists whereas Jordan Poole added 24 points for the team.
The Warriors have turned the corner as they have won the last five of their six matches and they will want to continue the good show.
“I’ve said for years Draymond is kind of the heartbeat of our team,” coach Steve Kerr said as quoted by AP.
GSW was dominant in the first quarter as they took a 47-27 lead and there was no turning back from that position.
Andrew Wiggins, who scored 17 points for the team, said, “We’ve been in a good groove lately. We’re playing together.”
Klay Thompson feels if the team comes up with a collective effort then they are the best team in the world.
“Steve just told us to play for each other and to simplify things and when we do that,” Thompson said, “we’re the best in the world.”
On the other hand, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch admitted that they have been inconsistent. The Timberwolves currently have a 10-11 record in the ongoing season.
“Our identity right now is super inconsistent, very Jekyll and Hyde,” coach Chris Finch said. “We’re not as physical or tough as I’d like us to be.”
Karl-Anthony Towns scored 21 points for the Timberwolves and he feels GSW are a well-oiled machine in the way they operate.
“Teams like Golden State, you can just see it in the way that they operate,” Towns said. “It’s a well-oiled machine. Everything they do has such cohesiveness to it, and that’s because of the time they have spent with each other.”
GSW will next take on Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
