Clippers star Paul George credits former teammate Pat Beverley for Minnesota Timberwolves’ success as they faceoff in the Western Conference play-ins

The Los Angeles Clippers’ talisman Paul George has heaped praise on the Minnesota Timberwolves and how much progress they have made this season. The Clippers forward was always very positive about his former teammate Patrick Beverley joining the Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves have a great opportunity to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in the last four years. They are seventh in the Western Conference with a 46-35 record.

The addition of Beverley has given the Timberwolves a great cutting edge as he has been very vital to their plans this season, something that Paul George predicted once his former teammate joined the Minnesota based franchise. Beverley will look to continue his great form against his former side as the Timberwolves take on the Clippers on Wednesday in their last encounter of the regular season.

Speaking on the Timberwolves’ success this season and Patrick Beverley being a major part of that reason, Paul George was full of praises for the franchise and also for his former teammate. He said, “I definitely see a team that is confident. I see a team that has believed and they play with heart. I told Karl-Anthony Towns when they got Pat Bev that he’s gonna change a lot of stuff, whether it was good or bad. He was gonna make an impact.”

The 33-year-old guard has been a vocal leader all through his career and Paul George understood his signing when he joined the Timberwolves who are relatively a younger squad and needed someone who can lead that locker room. George knew the quality and experience that Pat Beverley brings to the table as they spent two seasons with the Clippers earlier.

However, Paul George has played down the talk of the Minnesota Timberwolves taking up on the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in game which can be a match al about Patrick Beverley as the guard will be looking to prove a point against his former side.

It is bound to be a big game considering it is the first real test for Pat Beverley as he goes up against the Clippers in the play-ins. However, George feels that it should be looked like a game with two teams trying to reach the playoffs.

“I’m not going through Pat. We’re going through the T-Wolves. it’s not a Paul George vs. Patrick Beverley matchup. This isn’t a Pat Bev vs. Clippers matchup. We gotta go through the Timberwolves and the Wolves have to stop the Clippers,” Paul George opined.

Both the teams went through several adversities as the Minnesota Timberwolves fought their way through to the play-ins and will be adamant to prove to the NBA fraternity that they are a playoff material team. Similarly, the Clippers were without their All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the majority of the current season.
