On Tuesday night was a good one for the Los Angeles Clippers as they continued their winning streak, making their fourth win in a row as they beat the Dallas Mavericks 110-107.
The Mavericks played a good game, and it was only in the final seconds that the gap was set.
The game started rather slow and uneventful as in the fourth minutes, and both teams only had six points between them. That might give a hint to the fact that they were matched a bit, but it was because they kept making bricks. As the game progressed, both teams went for each other, each one trying to outdo the other. Kawhi Leonard led his side to victory as Luka Doncic still put on a good show, scoring the most count for the Mavericks. The final minutes of the game were a total contrast to the first four minutes as the teams kept making points after points.
However, the game was not without its downsides as Dwight Powell suffered a foot injury, causing him to leave the game. Although the exact extent of the injury is not known, the Dallas team is quite distraught as they fear it may be worse than it seems. Patrick Beverley also had to leave the court during the first half after suffering a hit to the groin.
Leonard and Doncic did good for their teams, making 36 points each. Leonard finished with 10 rebounds and nine assists while Doncic had 11 rebounds. 11 of Leonard’s points were made in the fourth quarter, as he helped his team take the lead after making a 3 point basket. But the real star of the fourth quarter was Landry Shamet, whose series of 3 points helped put his team ahead, finishing with 18 points in total.
Meanwhile, Kristaps Porzingis returns from his knee injury, taking the place of Powell and helping his team with 10 points. Paul George of the Clippers has missed his sixth game in succession as he deals with his hamstring strain.
