Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant shares his gratitude towards Vince Carter after surpassing him in the All-time NBA scoring list

Brooklyn Nets Superstar Kevin Durant recently surpassed Vince Carter in the All-time scoring list as he put up a solid performance in defeating the Indiana Pacers 116-109 on Monday. Durant finished the game with 36 points, nine boards and seven dimes in a welcome win for the Nets.

His partner in crime, Kyrie Irving was also in the groove as he finished the game with 28 points and six boards and six dimes to finish the game on a very happy note.

It was a very happy mood after the victory over the Indiana Pacers for all the Nets’ players and especially Durant who also achieved a humongous feat. After the match he spoke to the media and shared his gratitude towards the great Canadian legend. “It means a lot. I love to score the ball. That’s the name of the game.

He revealed how life has come full circle for him as his first NBA jersey as a kid was of Vince Carter’s when he was in Toronto. Durant was very happy and full of gratitude for the great Vinsaity. He added, “That’s why we play basketball – to put points on the board, to shift the game, to be mentioned with the greats, to pass somebody I looked up to as a kid – my first NBA jersey was Vince Carter’s when he was in Toronto. So that’s a full-circle moment for me.”

He also thanked his supporters and teammates throughout his career for supporting him in his journey and helping him reach this NBA milestone. “Grateful for all my teammates along the way that helped me throughout these years, my coaches as well. Everybody just chipped in and helped make me the player that I am today. I just got to keep going,” Durant signed off.

When Kevin Durant started the match against the Indiana Pacers he needed 11 points to surpass Vince Carter. KD surpassed the legend when he knocked down a couple of free throws in the first quarter.

The Brooklyn Nets have had a very below par start to the season as they are still gelling with a few players coming back from injury and are finding their role in the team. They have managed to win two games out of seven and are pretty low on the standings. They desperate need to gather a few wins to get back the momentum as they are truly considered as one of the favourites to lift the NBA Championship this season.
