Atlanta Hawks main man Trae Young has seen his stock rise in the last few seasons. The youngster has guided the Hawks to the Eastern Conference finals last season and will be looking to take them a step forward this season.
Young has been the face of the franchise for the last few years and with every season he is gradually getting better and is already considered as one of the upcoming point guards in the NBA.
Recently the Hawks talisman was asked in an interview about the players who have had the most impact in his career, therefore the fans got to know some interesting facts about Trae Young. The youngster has taken a leaf out of several players and moulded his game around players like Steph Curry, Steve Nash, Chris Paul, etc.
A lot of people feel that if Trae was not injured, the Hawks would have made it to the finals last season instead of the Milwaukee Bucks. The Hawks played really well last season with John Collins backing up Trae Young along with the other veterans who kept the score ticking and came up with those occasional blocks.
Trae Young has featured in the NBA for three seasons and the people already drawing comparisons to legends Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and others. Nicknamed the ‘ice Trae’, the youngster is a perfect example of elegance and nonchalance. He does not let the pressure of a situation get to him and hence the name suggest his carefree but clutch approach on the court.
In an interview with Trae, he responded to that question and said, “I think it’s just picking up from a lot of different players, for me. I grew up in OKC. I was able to have season tickets with my family and we were able to go to a lot of NBA games. So I was able to see a lot of my favourite players. Guys like Steve Nash, Chris Paul…”
“Earlier on, when I was a kid, seeing Chauncey Billups. And as I got older, Steph came along. Tony Parker, the way he can finish around the rim. So, a little bits and pieces from everybody.”
Trae is definitely one of the new guys who will leave a long-lasting impact alongside players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic and others. However, the first aim for the youngster will be to help the Hawks win the NBA Championship this season.
