Former NBA player Dwyane Wade has revealed that he tried to follow the footsteps of legendary players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Allen Iverson. Jordan and Bryant are regarded as two of the best players to have graced the game while Allen Iverson was known for his ball-handling skills.
Growing up, Wade, who had a 16-year-old career in the NBA and mostly played for the Miami Heat, idolized Michael Jordan as a youngster.
Wade was known for his scoring abilities and did a fine job in his career. He won the scoring title in 2009 after averaging 30.2 points per game. Wade also won the NBA Championship on three occasions with Miami Heat.
On Point Forward podcast, Wade said, “I got the chance to watch a guy, and to watch a team, and to watch players that I just admired so much that I just wanted to go out and do everything that they did.
“So, I’m a big Jordan guy, which everyone knows, but I was a big Allen Iverson and Kobe guy. Those were my three that I kind of followed and tried to like pat my game after, because I thought all those three different guys’ games was something I can reach that was attainable for me in a sense. So, those three, man.”
Meanwhile, Wade is regarded as one of the best shooting guards in the NBA. On the other hand, Michael Jordan won six NBA championships in his career whereas Kobe Bryant won five NBA rings in his glorious career. Furthermore, Allen Iverson was a four-time scoring champion.
